It has been a busy few weeks here at Upton. As we said goodbye to our Lowry to Piper exhibition and the 16 fabulous paintings we had on loan from the Arts Council Collection, it was all go!

We built scaffolding, finalised design details, moved scaffolding, adjusted lighting, watched the posters being hung, made final adjustments, sourced archive documents – and much more!

Staging exhibitions is a busy time. We turned an empty room into an exhibition space in time for our volunteers to have a sneak preview, before opening on Friday 18th April.

With a busy Easter weekend the exhibition has been a great success so far, and we look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors into this exhibition as we did the last one. We would love to hear what you think of the exhibition. Every time we visit the gallery we see or hear volunteers pointing out something witty, clever or interesting about the posters. What will you see? Tweet us your thoughts @UptonHouseNT #UptonArt

There is always time for fun though. Here we are testing the children’s activities!
