So, the time had come to start to re-hang the paintings in the Picture Gallery. It is such a privilege to work with our amazing collection, and we were all SO EXCITED to get the paintings back in the Gallery again!

I decided to record, in various ways, the process of putting the Gallery back together. Initially, we will focus our first post on what REALLY happened when we put back the most difficult exhibit – the Triptych of The Adoration of the Magi.

The Triptych belongs on a display stand (very heavy to move in itself) that we put in place a few days ago, with a lot of help.

The stand enables the painting to be displayed so that the painted reverse of the wings can also be seen. This is a wonderful advantage to visitors as they can view the detail on both sides.

What really happened when I turned the camera on? Take a look to find out. Needless to say, Upton House and Gardens is a fun place to work!
